Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort consisting of a 2,561-room hotel, a convention-exhibition Centre, a shopping mall, a museum, two large theatres, restaurants and the world's largest atrium casino.
The site is a reclamation area. Soft and thick Marine Clay layers underlies the reclamation fill and have potential to cause geotechnical problems. Kiso-Jiban was engaged by M/s Marina Bay Sands Pte. Ltd. to carry out the soil investigation to obtain high quality soil test results which allow safe and economical geotechnical design of the integrated resort. The soil investigation consists of a series of land/marine exploratory boreholes and land/marine Cone Penetration Tests (CPTs).
