Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower
Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) is an integrated development at Singapore's new waterfront. MBFC consists of three office towers and two residential towers occupying the area of 3.55 hectare. Fifty Story Tower 2 is one of three office towers. Kiso-Jiban was engaged by the developer as a soil investigation contractor. The site is situated on the ground with Singapore's problem prone soils, i.e., Marine Clay and Fort Canning Boulder Bed. Kiso-Jiban carried out 28 boreholes with maximum depth of over 120m. Kiso-Jiban obtained numbers of high quality undisturbed samples of Marine Clay and carried out laboratory test at our Singlas Accredited soil laboratory. We also performed PS Logging in the boreholes to obtain seismic wave velocities of Fort Canning Boulder Bed and Jurong Formation. This data was used for estimation of elastic modulus of deep ground where strain is very small.
