This project involves extensive soil investigation and laboratory testing for a mega-scale land reclamation at Areas A and C of Pulau Tekong, located in northeastern Singapore. As the nation’s first-ever polder-style reclamation project, it encompasses approximately 810 hectares of newly developed land.
The project features a 10-kilometer-long dike surrounding the polder, underlain by a cement-bentonite cut-off wall designed to prevent groundwater seepage. Due to the critical nature of this infrastructure, strict quality control standards were imposed on the wall's permeability and strength characteristics.
We successfully executed a huge volume of site investigations and high-precision laboratory testing, demonstrating our capacity to handle mega-scale infrastructure requirements:
Massive Soil Investigation
Conducted approximately 1,400 marine and land boreholes along with around 2,400 Piezocone Penetration Tests (CPTu) to comprehensively map the geological profiles.
High-Volume Quality Control Testing
To verify the stringent engineering criteria of the cut-off wall, our laboratory processed a massive volume of critical tests, including:
- 24,000 samples for Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) testing.
- 14,000 samples for Triaxial Permeability testing.
